Book signing in Duluth-MN

I have lived in Duluth or Hermantown for 30 years and I am excited to have a book signing at Skyline Social & Games on Sat. Nov 27. I have shared the past 30 years in a hockey community, while serving seniors as a nursing home administrator or CEO for assisted livings settings.

I have been lucky to know some amazing people in these communities who I am blessed to call friends from church, work, Rotary, hockey, and amazing neighborhoods. We raised our sons here and I cherish the memories of school days and hockey tournaments as at one point in our life…. I thought those days would never end. They did.

As our youngest son was heading to the State Championship for Hermantown Hockey, I knew I had Breast Cancer. But, this was not the time to tell anyone in March of 2015. Sometimes life has to wait for the right moment, and it did this time for sure. This was MN High School Hockey and I was surely not talking cancer in that moment.

I know think….thank god for the joy of distractions from sports, children, school activities etc. These distractions fill our souls with the necessary balance when life hands you lemons! Sometimes doing the Hawk Dance is more than a blessing as you can forget you have cancer for five minutes! You can sing, dance and remember how thankful you are to be alive.

So, this Thanksgiving week, I give thanks for simple treasures. A walk outside, moments together with my husband, time to cuddle my grand-dog, time with our sons and daughter in law, time with my parents and mother-in-law, moments with family and friends, wine by a fire, health, my job, my opportunity to write a book to inspire others when they are diagnosed with cancer, face set backs, and are scared to death.

I, too, was once scared to death. Then, I learned how to have faith guide me vs. fear. This was a game changer!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving week and remember to give thanks for something-everyday! Let your light shine.

Natalie
